Non-destructive testing, five methods
Non-destructive testing verifies the integrity of a part without damaging it and without taking it out of service. Each method has its own field of application: some see only the surface, others reach into the volume of the material. Below is what each one detects and when it is used.
Magnetic particle testing
Detection of surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials.
Method detailsPTLiquid penetrant testing
Revealing surface-breaking discontinuities on any non-porous material.
Method detailsUTUltrasonic testing
Locating and sizing defects inside the material volume, with single-sided access.
Method detailsVTVisual testing
The first method applied to any job and the prerequisite for all the others.
Method detailsUTTUltrasonic thickness measurement
Determining remaining wall thickness with access from one side only.
Method detailsNot sure which method you need?
Tell us the material, the type of defect that concerns you, and whether the part can be accessed from both sides. We will recommend the appropriate method before quoting.
